Landmark`s “Conversations From Main Street“ series begins with Jeanine Tesori - a Port native who has written four Tony-nominated scores for Broadway. She will be interviewed by John Broza.
The monument is dedicated to the sandminers who labored in Port Washington for over 100 years. They supplied the bulk of the sand for the concrete in the sidewalks and skyscrapers of New York City.

The Thomas Dodge House, circa 1721, is the oldest house in Port Washington and a living museum administered by the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Sands- Willets House, circa 1735, is the headquarters of the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society. From May through October, it is open for guided tours of its 10 fully furnished rooms on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, from 2pm - 4pm. Also included is a tour of the 1600`s Dutch barn.
