The Thomas Dodge House, built in 1721, is the oldest house in Port Washington. It is open to the public the second Saturday of the month until November. It was owned by Dodge family descendants until 1992 and houses a collection of family furnishings dating from the 1700s through the early 1900s.Tours are conducted. Every month PWGreen Inc. hosts guided nature walks on the Guggenheim School Nature Preserve. The site includes a woodland and meadow. Dress accordingly. Binoculars are helpful.
Gather with women of all ages who seek support and companionship. Have a meal and share stories. Meetings 1st & 3rd Tuesdays. Lunch from 12 - 12:30PM. Meeting from 12:30 - 2 PM. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Sands- Willets House, circa 1735, is the headquarters of the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society. Open for guided tours of its 10 fully furnished rooms on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from May to October. Admission: $5 adults and $2.50 children under 12.
